Section 300. ADMINISTRATION; OFFICERS; DEPARTMENTS |
§ 300.05. General duties of department and division heads.
Subdivision 1. Administration. Department and division heads are the administrative officers of the City. They are responsible for the efficient administration of their respective departments and divisions and shall initiate, with the approval of the Manager, whatever practices, programs and procedures are necessary to fulfill that responsibility.
Subd. 2. Assignment of duties. The Manager may assign the same individual to head two (2) or more departments or to head one (1) or more divisions within a department. The Manager may be a department head. The Manager shall create a job description for each department head position, describing the specific duties and areas of responsibility for the position. The Manager may modify any department head's job description and duties from time to time. A department head shall perform the duties identified in the job description and any additional duties assigned by the Manager. (Amended, Bill No. 1996-3, Sec. 1)
