Section 705. SEWER SYSTEM: RATES AND CHARGES |
§ 705.19. Collections.
Charges of sewer and water service are due on the quarterly due date specified by the City for the respective account and shall be delinquent 15 days thereafter. It is the duty of the City to endeavor to promptly collect delinquent accounts, and in all cases where satisfactory arrangements for payment have not been made, all delinquent accounts shall be certified to the City Clerk who shall prepare an assessment of the delinquent amounts against the properties served. To each account there shall be added a certification charge (preparation for certification of taxes of delinquent accounts) in the amount provided for in appendix D. The assessment roll shall be delivered to the Council for adoption each year. The action may be optional or subsequent to taking legal action to collect delinquent accounts. The certification charge, when collected, shall be allocated equally between the City's water fund and its sewer fund. (Amended, Bill No. 2016-14)
