§ 1170.01. Taxicabs.

Subdivision 1. Definitions. For the purposes of this section the terms defined have the meanings given them.

Subd. 2. "Taxicab" means a motor vehicle regularly engaged in the business of carrying passengers for hire, having a seating capacity of less then eight (8) persons and not operated on a fixed route.

Subd. 3. "Auto liveries" means vehicles used generally in conveying the public; the term includes vehicles available to the general public for carrying passengers for hire, but does not include route common carriers as defined in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 221.
