§ 1170.03. Taxicab license.

  • Subdivision 1. License required. No person may engage in the business of operating taxicabs or auto liveries in the City without first obtaining a license. Any taxicab licensed to operate in another political subdivision of this State including the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport may carry passengers to any place or point within the City; but neither the owner nor operator of such vehicle may solicit or pick-up business on the streets of the City or to otherwise operate within the City without being licensed under the provisions of this subsection.

    Subd. 2. Contents of application. Persons desiring to engage in the taxicab or auto livery business in the City shall submit an application setting forth:

    (a)

    The name and address of the applicant;

    (b)

    The experience of the applicant in the transportation of passengers;

    (c)

    The make, body style and model year of each vehicle to be operated by the applicant;

    (d)

    The locations of all proposed depots and taxicab terminals; and

    (e)

    The color scheme or insignia, if any, to be used to designate the applicant's vehicles.

    Subd. 3. License fee. The annual license fee is set by appendix D.
